modern teenage years can be difficult to navigate, with everyone feeling like they’re under a microscope, but also fear that they’re missing out on something.
This is why we consider ourselves in the “self-esteem” business.

We aim to raise their self-esteem by learning as much as we can about each student before they come in for a session, so that we can give them the best experience based on their personality and interests.
An experience many of them say is the highlight of their senior year.

We raise self-esteem through our senior portraits.

“Oh my GOd….Is that me?”

How do you think we felt when this was the first reaction when one of our seniors saw their very first photo?

Or how about this comment?

“This picture raised my confidence by 10x.”

What's Your Story?

Your senior pictures should really describe you, and not look like your friend Ashley's, or Johnny, who lives across the street. Your unique senior portraits from Luke Photography will exhibit a singular reflection of yourself, whether you are wild and glamorous, or quiet and introverted.

“I just wanted to let you know how incredibly pleased I am with Elizabeth’s senior pictures! I can’t stop looking at them, they are so perfect! They capture her beauty inside and out and her personality perfectly! She had so much fun that day of her photo session too. It was a bright spot in our year for sure and with a senior year like this, Elizabeth sure needed it!”

Are senior portraits worth it?
Senior year and graduating from high school is one of those significant milestones in most people’s life…and there is not way better to remember it than to have moments captured with photos. Yes, your cell phone photos are OK, but if you really want them done well and have something that you’re proud of and will show off forever, you are better off going to a professional photographer to show them in their best light.

My friend’s mother has a “good” camera, why shouldn’t we just go to her?
You certainly can do that if you want. But please remember that a good camera only indicates that people have money to buy a “good” camera. It doesn’t mean that they know how to use the camera well, or know how to work with people to make them comfortable, or know what kind of lighting, posing, and camera angles are flattering and won’t make you cringe. The camera is only a tool…it doesn’t take the photos any more than an expensive stove cooks a meal by itself, or expensive scissors cut your hair for you.

I’ve heard we only should photograph outside and only during “golden hour”.
Photographers that tend to only photograph outdoors at golden hour do so because it is easier, because the light makes their job easier. An experienced portrait photographer should be able to work indoors or outdoors and have the equipment and know-how to produce beautiful results in any conditions. We’ve created photos at noon that look like they were taken in the evening, and taken photos in the evening look like they were done at mid-day.

When you walk into our studio, you benefit from someone paying attention to who you are, and you'll get images that all your friends will look at and say,

That is 'so' you!

Your parents will benefit by knowing that they've invested wisely in images that will not look out-of-date in a few years…but will be admired for years to come.

You can see the great photographs that come from the studio.  And you can listen to people talk about how much they enjoyed their sessions.
But how do you know what the sessions are really like?  Now you can see behind the scenes and experience two high school senior sessions in this video.

The senior portrait experience at Luke Photography goes way beyond the awesome photos...

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT

The most successfully sessions start with a short portrait consultation, so I can get a good under-standing of who you are, and what you are like.

During this consultation, we'll discuss session style, clothing, props, and off-site locations that will make your session unique to you and only you.  This will guarantee that you’ll be more relaxed and comfortable...which you’ll like.

It also makes for great portraits....which I like.

And you’ll likely spend less than at one of the big factory studios, which your parents will LOVE.

What people ARE SAYING ABOUT THE STUDIO

HS Students

"A lot of photographers can capture a good photograph, but the way you capture a person's eyes has a genuine ability to express their story. That's what senior pictures are all about; telling a person's story through an instantaneous media.  Nobody that I've seen has been able to capture a person's depth as well as you do in every one of your shots.  It's a talent not many possess and something to be proud of.  I am very grateful to have worked with you and my family will continue coming to you because of your dedication to a final product that is much more than just a photograph."
Spencer, McQuaid HS Sr.

"I loved having my senior photos taken at Luke Photography because you really care about people"
Marissa - Fairport HS

I love my photos because they capture more than just what I looked like."
Sarah - Fairport HS

I love my images!  A lot of people who went to  generic places were not so happy…but I like how mine reflect me."
Regina, Churchville-Chili HS

All the photos were beautiful…just perfect.  You  captured my personality in my senior pictures.”
Holly, Marion HS

Parents

"You should call these self-esteem sessions, not senior portrait sessions.  Now my daughter sees that she's as beautiful as we think she is."
Denise, mother of Julia, Fairport HS

"It was an inspiring atmosphere in terms of both the physical space and the relationship between photographer and subject.  Pat gave feedback along the way, showing the photographs with excitement, which increased our daughter's comfort and ease with the process. It was fun!"
Anne, mother of Elanor, Victor HS

"We had a blast Pat. Even Jake walked away saying, "that was fun!"  Impressive from a 17- year old boy!  You were able to capture a huge part of our son's life in such a realistic way. I'm so happy we made the 11-hour drive. You are the best Pat. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Bridget, mother of Jake, Knightdale HS (Cary, North Carolina)

I mean it...you like what you do...you're really good at it and it shows...your pics definitely don't look like any other senior pics.”
Kathy, mother of Connor, Pal-Mac HS

"I wanted to thank you for your enthusiasm today during our consultation.  As we walked out, the kids all commented how much fun it was and had nothing but complimentary things to say about you!  Christopher has had no interest in getting senior pics done, but as we walked out, he commented how fun and personable that was and that he was now actually looking forward the session."
Donna, mother of Fairport HS triplets

“Once again, you've done an outstanding job and your ears must be ringing non-stop because I tell everyone what a great photographer you are.”
Sheila, mother of Caitlyn, Fairport HS
