The middle school years can be difficult to navigate, especially with the overwhelming prevalence of social media, and the “fear of missing out”.
My wife has been teaching 12 and 13 yr. old students for 34 years, so I hear about what goes on every day.
Mental health is a daily topic of conversation. I’ve been listening to my HS Senior portrait customers tell me year after year how our sessions have made them feel so much better about themselves:
”Now my daughter sees that she’s as beautiful as we’ve been telling her she is”
“Her friends always been described as a good athlete…now they see her as a beautiful”
“These photos made me feel special”
“This is one of the first times she really felt safe just being herself.”
We don’t want the students to have to wait until their senior year of high school to be able to experience a confidence-building photo session.
this is why we consider ourselves in the “self-esteem” business.
We can photograph the students by themselves:
For those that would rather not have the distraction of others around
For those budding all-star athletes who want to look like professional athletes
For those that want to celebrate their uniqueness, if they can’t do it otherwise
To celebrate their first “teen” birthday
We can photograph them with friends:
When their besties are inseparable
If a best friend is moving away
To commemorate teammates
If they just need a break from everything and time to be silly
