Reed - Senior Pictures - Pittsford-Sutherland HS

Reed will be entering his senior year at Pittsford-Sutherland HS in the fall, and came to the studio this spring  for his senior portraits.  He was a late but worthy  addition to the 2016 Model Team.

Reed is a mid-fielder on Pittsford-Sutherlands very successful boys' lacrosse team which achieved a national ranking during this past season.  He had a very clean look, and photographed really well.  The most surprising thing about his look is that, depending on which side of his face you were looking at, he either looked like Matt Damon or Leonardo DiCaprio.  I guess if you have to look like a couple of actors, those are two that can't miss.

If you know Reed and are interested in senior pictures, talk to him about her experience at the studio and ask him for a Gift Card good for 20% off a senior portrait session fee at Luke Photography.

Rebecca - Senior Pictures - Fairport HS

Rebecca is a Class of 2017 HS Model Rep. for Luke Photography from Fairport HS.  She plays field hockey both for Fairport's varsity team and a travel team, carries a straight A average...AND plans on a pre-med major in college.  Beauty, brains, and ambition.

This beautiful girl has an identical twin who's session immediately followed Rebecca's, which made it extra interesting because the studio shoots every session differently, even with two identical girls coming in back-to-back.  I had photographed Rebecca several times on her field hockey team, so we were familiar with each other, which made the session comfortable from the start.  Combine that with Rebecca's easy-going nature, and we breezed through a number of different outfits and sets.  And just look at the last photo in this set...such soulful eyes.

If you know Rebecca and are interested in senior pictures, talk to her about her experience at the studio and ask her for a Gift Card good for 20% off a senior portrait session fee at Luke Photography.

Isabel - HS Senior Pictures - Fairport HS

Isabel Hofford is a Class of 2017 HS Model Rep. from Fairport HS who had an amazingly creative session.  She brought in more ideas of her own that anyone I've photographed in the last year, and they made her session very personal.

It started out with her adorable puppy Sophie.  As if that wasn't enough, and it could have been, she brought in one of her father's jersey's when he played professional hockey...including in the NHL with the great Wayne Gretzky.  Isabel is a star athlete herself, having played on the Canadian National lacrosse team as a goalie.  She works out religiously, and puts most people to shame.

The portrait with the mirror and the coffee mug and blanket were also ideas that Isabel brought in.  She had mentioned that she liked balloons, so we brought in a few balloons for her session, not knowing that she was going to bring in a bunch of her own.  Fortunately, the colors all worked together, and we used them both indoors and outdoors.  Lastly, she brought in a vintage fur coat that was passed down through her family, and the final photos give her the look of a Hollywood socialite.

If you know Isabel and are interested in senior pictures, talk to herabout her experience at the studio and ask her for a Gift Card good for 20% off a senior portrait session fee at Luke Photography.

Emily - HS Senior Pictures - Penfield HS

Emily is a Class of 2017 HS Model Rep. from Penfield HS who had been planning on beinga Model Rep. since her brother came to the studio two years ago for his senior portraits.  Emily has a great casual wardrobe, and everything that she brought in worked, and worked well.  Most of her clothes were in the cool end of the spectrum (e.g. blue, purple) and they worked especially well with her dark hair.

Emily is a crazy good lacrosse player who plays both for the Penfield varsity team and the Lady Roc summer program.  She's "fast when she wants to be", and was game for some dramatic photos in her lacrosse warm-ups.  We are looking forward to photographing her this summer in her uniform on the turf field at Penfield HS.

If you know Emily and are interested in senior pictures, talk to Emily about her experience at the studio and ask her for a Gift Card good for 20% off a senior portrait session fee at Luke Photography.

Acadia - HS Senior Portraits - Victor HS

Acadia is a Class of 2017 HS Model Rep. for Luke Photography from Victor HS.  Prior to her senior portrait session we discussed going outdoors in the snow during her session, and she said that she was "up for anything".  Little did I know this meant I was going to get hit with a snowball.

Cadi, as her friends call her, brought in several changes of clothes in her typical "BoHo" style, which all photographed really well.  As we usually do, we pick the backgrounds for the session based on the clothes the senior brings in.  You can't plan on pre-conceived ideas if they won't match the color or style of clothes that the subject is going to wear.  Fortunately, she brought in a royal blue blouse which really made her eyes "pop".  By using a plain white background, it lets her eyes take center stage....they are the first thing you see in those images, and it's difficult taking your eyes off of hers.

Cadi has a nice, easy smile which looks amazing in those photos, but take a look at the more serious look she shows.  Just a little bit of sass, just a little bit of confidence, just a little bit....of Cadi.

High School Senior Pictures - Jahadi, Fairport HS

Jahadi just entered his senior year at Fairport HS and is going to start...and end...the year as one of the star players on the varsity football and lacrosse teams.  But it doesn't begin or end with sports for him.  Jahadi is one of the nicest, respectful, and laid-back students that have come through the studio for senior portraits.  My wife taught him in middle school as an 8th grader and had nothing but good things to say of him.  I can't imagine anyone saying anything bad about him.

As a junior running back last year, Jahadi reeled off a 68-yard touchdown run on the 2nd play from scrimmage in the first quarter of a Homecoming win.  And had it not been for an injury, he would have run amok through the lacrosse defenses last spring. And this year, I expect big things from this well-liked young man.

High School Senior Pictures - Lillian, Penfield HS

Lillian is almost ready to enter her senior year at Penfield HS, and, like her sister, came to the studio for her senior portrait session.  She is an athlete and a musician and we incorporated both into her session, which made it really interesting..  She brought a beautiful electric violin, which had a striking graphic shape, and we ended the session at the Penfield HS pool and at least one of us got wet. Check out the gallery below to see who it was.

Behind-the-scenes photographs provided by Jennifer Caccavale, Lillian's mother.

High School Senior Pictures - Ashley - Greece Athena

Ashley came to the studio from Greece for her senior portraits.  She is a senior from Greece Athena, and also happens to be my niece.  I have been photographing her since she was three months old, but all that means is that I have to dig deep and give her something really new for her senior portrait session.

We worked in the studio for awhile, then finished up near one of my "go to" locations in the Village of Fairport, the old American Can building. On the north side of the building, the light is always perfect, and the facade of the building changes every 50-100 feet. Plenty of options and different possibilities....all in one location.

High School Senior Pictures- Payton's Outdoor Session

Payton, a senior from Victor High School, is one of the studio's Model Reps. for the Class of 2016 and wanted to incorporate ballet photos into her 2nd session at the studio.  We explored a couple of lighting scenarios in her ballet outfits, going for dramatic lighting on a black background for the red and white outfit, and a softer light and white background for the light blue outfit.

Following the dance photos, we walked outside around the Village of Fairport and picked several locations that accentuated Payton's beauty and clothing choices.  The orange tank top reminded me of the sun, and her white and blue shorts looked like the sky and clouds.

High School Senior Pictures- Jen's Outdoor Session

Jen is one of the studio's five Model Representatives from Fairport High School for this year's senior portrait season.  Her first session in the studio was in February, and during her second session we got to take advantage of the warmer weather and walked around the Village of Fairport.

Jen's biggest passion is softball, and she plays first base and pitches occasionally for Fairport's varsity softball team.  She bats lefty and, like most lefties, has a sweet, pure swing which often sends balls over the fence.  She calls herself a little weird and funny, but also a very caring person.  The only thing I think is weird about her is that she doesn't like chocolate.  I mean....who else besides Jen doesn't like a little decadent chocolate once in awhile.  She does make up for this by loving mac and cheese, the all American comfort food.

Please enjoy these photos from Jen's spring time session, and a couple of videos from her sessions.

High School Senior Pictures - Marissa, Fairport Class of 2016

Marissa is finishing her junior year at Fairport HS and we photographed her entire Model Rep. session in the High Falls area of downtown Rochester.  The warmer weather gave us an opportunity to take advantage of the great architecture and history of the area. Knowing the possibilities, I had some aerial footage of the session recorded with a quadcopter that was equipped with a high-definition camera.  The video gives a really good indication of the working environment.  Here is a link to the video.

When she grows up, she merely wants to be "happy", which I think is a great goal to have no matter what you do or how old you are.  Her dream job would be working in an aquarium with dolphins, and she's already a certified scuba diver.

Marissa had a "look" that  thought would work well in this environment.  We brought a portable changing room so that she could change outfits throughout the session, and we took advantage of the color and texture of her clothes to match...or contrast...with the environment that we were in.  She has the most amazing detailed flecks of color in her rich brown eyes that you really can't see unless you are there talking to her, so I wanted to show alot of close ups of her to share that here.

High School Senior Pictures - Haley, Fairport Class of 2016

Haley is a junior at Fairport HS and is a little dynamo of a personality.  I had so much fun with her and her mother, nicknamed Mer Bear by Haley, in the studio during her senior portrait session. She said that talking for hours is an unusual talent that she has...but I wouldn't call that unusual for a lot of teenage girls.  But she is a bubbly smiling machine, and I firmly believe that she could go on for hours.

Haley's session coincided with a particularly nice day early in the year, so we were able to get outside the studio and work outside for awhile.  And here are the fruits of our labor:

HS Senior Pictures - Crystal, Fairport Class of 2016

Crystal is one of the Class of 2016 Model Reps. from Fairport HS, and came to the studio for her session in between lacrosse games and practices.  She said her favorite place on earth is the lacrosse field, and I've seen her there and I believe its true.

She brought in a variety of outfits and we worked through as many as we could during the session, but no matter what she wore, it was immediately apparent that her blue eyes took center stage in all of her photos.  When my daughter saw these photos, she said that I must have really retouched her eyes, because they are "SO" blue.  No, I really didn't.  Her eyes really "ARE" that blue.

I always try to get to know my Model Reps. as well as I can, so that they feel comfortable with me and I know more about their personality, which enables me to bring out that inner personality in their photos.  Crystal is on the quiet side, and she said that one of her dream jobs is oneirolgy...which, as everyone knows...is studying dreams.  No, I didn't know that...she had to tell me.  :-)  And she confided in me that her hidden talent is breaking an apple in half with her bare hands.  Next time I photograph her, I'm bringing a bushel of apples and letting her show me.

High School Senior Pictures - Payton, Victor Class of 2016

Payton is a cheerleader and dancer from Victor HS and is a Model Rep. for the Class of 2016 from Victor HS.  Her mother teaches ballet, and that is why Payton became very accomplished at dance herself.  She added cheerleading to the mix a couple of years ago, and although she was pretty quiet and focused during her session, she describes herself as very talkative.

She is one of two girls whose sessions were shown in the studio's behind-the-scenes promotional video that was produced this year.  Her big dream is to go to nursing school and to become a neonatal nurse, but I can bet that meeting Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio probably finished a close 2nd to nursing.

Payton's next session early this summer will involve some ballet and dancing photographs, but please enjoy these from her first session.

High School Senior Pictures - Jen, Fairport Class of 2016

Jen is a junior at Fairport HS and is one of the studio's Model Reps. for the upcoming Class of 2016 senior picture season.  These photos are from her Model Rep. session in February, and show a little bit of what is coming for this year's senior portraits.

Jen is on Fairport's varsity softball team and has a really sweet lefty swing, which is typical of many, but not all lefties. I am looking forward to her next session in June, when we can get some dramatic sports photos.  Her friends would describe her as a little goofy, but the only thing that I find is a little goofy about Jen is that she does not like chocolate.  Knowing this, she is always welcome to spend Halloween or Easter at my family's house, because that's one less person we have to fight to get to the chocolate.

Enjoy her photos, and look out for more to come from Jen this summer.

Jake - Senior Pictures: Baseball Session On Location

Jake and his family traveled from North Carolina to Luke Photography for his senior portrait session. because they liked the way I photograph athletes.  The first part of Jake's session was done in the studio, but he's a big basketball and baseball player, so the last part of his session was done on a baseball field.  Here are some behind-the-scenes shots and final photos from this fun part of his session.

Loryn - Senior Pictures - Fairport Class of 2015

Loryn was a member of Fairport's varsity softball team as a sophomore when I photographed the team and thought she would be a great Model Rep. for the studio this year.  I certainly hit the mark on this one.  Loryn is fun and has a bubbly personality, and I really enjoyed her session.   Not only is she cute and smart, but has that sense of humor as a kicker.

Here is the layout of her Model Rep. album, which is showing around to her classmates.  She also has gift cards which will entitle whoever brings one in to a session to 20% off a senior portrait session.  If you know Loryn, get a card from her.

Alina - Senior Pictures - Fairport HS Class of 2015

Alina had one of the most fashion-conscious sessions I've had in a long time.  As a small child, she used to model for Kodak for marketing materials.  She may or may not remember it, but she certainly subconsciously recalls those sessions and brought all that memory back during her senior portrait session here in my Fairport studio.

Alina is one of the studio's Model Representatives from Fairport High School. This is her Art Book, which she will be sharing with her friends and passing out Gift Cards so her friends and classmates can get discount portrait sessions.

Samantha - Senior Pictures, Fairport Class of 2015

I first photographed Samantha during a family portrait session about 4 years years ago, and thought at that time that she'd be a great Model Rep. for the studio. She had a quiet grace and confidence about her that I thought was very real, it was not put on or fake.  As most of my photo sessions are, her Model Rep. session was unique to her and the mood of the session really took on the character of the person involved.  She proved even more confident than I had expected, and I think that really shows up in her senior pictures.

Maddie - Senior Pictures, Fairport Class of 2015

Maddie's older sister came to the studio two years ago for her senior pictures, and I had her pegged then as a freshman as a Model Rep. for this year.  Maddie is an outgoing, talkative and friendly girl who plays lacrosse and is well-liked by many of her classmates. At least, that's what they have all told me.  :-)

I knew right away that Maddie's blue eyes are her most prominent feature, and that became very apparent during her session.  She had a lot of range during the session, and was able to pull off a lot of different looks very easily.  If you know Maddie, make sure to ask her for Gift Cards to the studio for your senior portrait session.
